We are delighted to invite you to the ISSNAF Annual Event 2015 that will place at the Italian Embassy in Washington D.C. on October 27–28 with the participation of prominent Italian scientists and researchers active in North America, as well as representatives of the Institutions and the industry.
As a result of the agreement signed by ISSNAF and the Scientific Committee of EXPO 2015, City of Milan, the first day of works will focus on the theme of EXPO “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”, and in particular on “Scientific Challenges in Nutrition and Sustainability”.
The theme will be covered and discussed in four brainstorming sessions by prominent speakers from different fields of research: Prof. Paolo Sassone Corsi, Director, Center for Epigenetics and Metabolism, University of California, Irvine; Prof. Roberto Crea – President and CEO, Creagri; Maurizio Vecchione, Sr. VP for Global Good & Research, Intellectual Ventures Global Good Fund, Intellectual Ventures Laboratories & Institute for Disease Modeling; Enrico Borgarello, Research and Innovation Director, Italcementi.
The keynote speech will be delivered by Prof. Sergio Pecorelli, Chairman of the Board, AIFA (Italian Medicines Agency) and Professor, Dept. Obstetrics and Gynecology & Chancellor, University of Brescia, Italy.
This year we will dedicate also a session to start-ups and innovation held by Emil Abirascid, journalist, innovator, author and Luca Escoffier, CEO, Innoventually.
During the event, to be opened by H.E. Italian Ambassador to the U.S.A. Claudio Bisogniero, the ISSNAF Lifetime Achievement Award will be awarded to renowned mathematician Prof. Enrico Bombieri.
On the second day (Oct 28th), we will present the ISSNAF Awards for Young Investigators, in recognition of the brilliant work of young Italian talents, and there will be a discussion with ISSNAF Chapters and Young ISSNAF coordinator, facilitated by the Scientific Attaches of the Italian Embassy.
