Ambassador of Italy to the U.S. Varricchio meets with italian community in Miami.

What a special occasion to exchange views on positive trends of scientific and economic relations between Italy and Florida!

The Miami Scientific Italian Community was represented by several members of Board of Directors (from the left: Prof. Massimiliano Galeazzi, Secretary; Prof. Alessia Fornoni, Vice President; Hon. Ambassador of Italy in U.S. Armando Varricchio; Dr. Fabio De Furia, President; and Prof. Domenico Calcaterra MSIC delegate in Minnesota).

The Miami Scientific Community believes in the path of Scientific Diplomacy aimed at boosting the Italian system and creating a research environment perfectly integrated into the territory.  Participation of universities and research bodies, local and Italian, can support the promotion, integration, and effective collaboration between applied and industrial research.

The goal is creating a link between the university and the industrial world to help the transfer of innovative technologies and to support the competitiveness of the Italian industrial system.

To accomplish this important goal, there is a need to promote innovation and technology transfer by involving the researchers’ associations abroad and with a specific focus and delegation on technology transfer.

The existence in Florida of outstanding academic centers, a growing number of companies focused on technological innovation, and an Italian scientific community that has distinguished itself contributes to creating a fertile environment and represents a resource to be valued for its important economic impact locally and in the global dimension.

We intend to consolidate the position of MSIC as an important catalyst for technological innovation between academia and industry promoting strategic partnerships that could have a lasting impact on American and Italian productive activities.
