Signed the decree approving the statute of the Enea Tech Foundation which will manage the first Italian fund entirely dedicated to technology transfer.
The Foundation will aim to promote investments and initiatives in research and development and technology transfer in favour of companies operating on the national territory, with particular reference to innovative start-ups and innovative SMEs. As provided of the by-law , the Foundation will be able to participate and invest in innovative start-ups and SMEs, university spin-offs and research and development centers, promoting and supporting innovation and technology transfer processes of SMEs for the creation of high-tech enterprises. For this purpose it will initially manage resources for 500 million euros.
Undersecretary Gian Paolo Manzella states: “Enea Tech Transfer is a very important project. It touches on a central theme for the Italian industrial future such as technology transfer; it involves and re-launches a research center such as ENEA; it is a potential treadmill for actions of other research institutions in our country. The direction, in line with European indications, is correct and the work in front of us must see a close connection with the National Innovation Fund, which has this theme very clear in its industrial plan, and with the other subjects that make technological transfer in our country: from the Bruno Kessler Foundation to Cefriel, up to the Polytechnics, just to give a few examples. The system for technology transfer has a new actor, and the commitment is that it will contribute to make the collaboration between companies and the research world more and more incisive and strong”.
