Augusto Cavallini, a South Florida resident and manager of the HarperLove Adhesives has been appointed by unanimous vote of the Steering Committee as the new president of the COMITES (Comitato degli Italiani all’Estero) of Miami.
Dr. Cavallini is an Industrial Engineer with a PhD in International Business and currently is a manager of HarperLove Adhesives, a leading company in the supply of raw materials for the manufacture of corrugated cardboard, the primary sector of packaging using cellulose fibers. Since 2014, he holds the position of Director for Mexico, Caribbean, Central and South America activities.
Since April 2015 he has been a member of COMITES Miami and he is a founding member of the “Associazione Nazionale Carabinieri sezione di Miami.”
Previously, he served as manager at Fabio Perini SpA leading machinery for the industrial packaging of paper product.
From 1975 to 1987 he worked at the Banca Nazionale del Lavoro, Miami branch.
From 1970 to 1974 he served his country in the “Reggimento Corazzieri dell’Arma dei Carabinieri”
The COMITES are elected bodies that represent Italian citizens residing abroad in dealing with consular offices and designed to allow Italian nationals residing overseas to actively participate in the life of their community.
COMITES members hold unpaid offices with a term of five years.
In collaboration with the consular authorities, with the regions and local governments and other organizations and associations working in the consular district, the COMITES promote the interests of local Italian residents through valid initiatives of a social, cultural, educational, and/or charitable nature, or that deal with vocational training or leisure and recreational pursuits. The COMITES members, after consultation with the consular authorities, may represent their constituent Italian community before other Authorities and local institutions.
The COMITES of Miami represents the Miami Cosular district (including Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississipi, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Bahamas, Jamaica, ST. Marteen, ST. Eustatius, Saba, American Virgin Islands, Brithish Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Turk & Caicos.
