Today, for the second consecutive year, the PMI DAY – National Day of Small and Medium Enterprises organized by Piccola Industria Confindustria (Italy), will be back in the United States to promote the spread of the Made in Italy business culture among young American students through small, medium-sized italian companies operating in the USA. The project, in the USA, is promoted in collaboration with Miami Scientific Italian Community (MSIC), ISSNAF, BAIA, Mayac and ODLI (Organization for the Development of Italian Studies), AbroadTo the Community of Italian Companies, Consorzio Orgoglio Brescia and the Embassy of Italy in Washington. The initiative, included in the 17th Week of Corporate Culture organized by Confindustria and promoted by the EU Commission within the European SME Week, is coordinated by Stefano Zapponini, Councilor for the Presidency of Piccola Industria Confindustria and member of the International Advisory Board of the Miami Scientific Italian Community.
“For the second time we will be able to offer to young American students the opportunity to learn a little more about the real world of Italian companies through our product and process innovations and bring the world of school and work closer together”, commentedFabio De Furia, President of the Miami Scientific Italian Community (MSIC). “An opportunity to understand the values of our production system, characterized by concrete commitment and passion, and offer a valuable contribution to the protagonists of our future. De Furia concludes, “The US project will be possible thanks to the contribution of Italian companies in the USA and the commitment of Monica Veronesi (ISSNAF), Luigi Bava (ODLI, MAYAC), Flavio Notari (BAIA) and Giancarlo Turati (Consorzio Orgoglio Brescia)”.
“Doing business requires passion, commitment, dedication, responsibility and skills”, explainedCarlo Robiglio, President of Piccola Industria di Confindustria. “For 9 years, during the SME DAY, we open the doors of companies to students, teachers and local communities to tell the story of our businesses, their identity and how they are changing. In every part of the world, companies are the beating heart of the territories and the SME DAY is born precisely to transmit this passion to young people, the true protagonists of the companies of the future. It makes us very proud that for the second year this initiative will take place in the US, involving the many Italian SMEs operating in the country, witnessing the great value of Made in Italy in the world. Today we are living in a global geographical horizon, knowing that we have created an event able to internationalize with success, shows how the SME DAY is able to represent the founding values of the Italian companies”.
