Statement by President De Furia

“Professor Teodoro Valente’s dedication to space policies and to advancing the understanding of space as a driver of innovation, cooperation, and human progress profoundly changed the perception of space among those who are not directly involved in the scientific and technological community. His vision, commitment, and ability to communicate the importance of space exploration and space innovation brought the space sector closer to society, inspiring people far beyond the boundaries of academia and industry. Today, on behalf of the Miami Scientific Italian Community, I declare that our Italian Space Day celebration in the United States will be dedicated as the Teodoro Valente Space Day. This recognition is a tribute to a man whose work has elevated Italy’s role in the global space community and whose legacy belongs not only to Italy, but to the entire world. We owe him our gratitude, our respect, and the commitment to continue advancing the vision he dedicated his life to.”
