The Strategic Value of Italy-U.S. Collaboration in Science, Technology, and Innovation

By Maurizio Tarquini, Director General of Confindustria

“Today, transatlantic relations represent an increasingly strategic asset for the competitiveness, innovation, and growth of our economic systems. In this context, the dialogue between Italy and the United States in the fields of science, technology, research, and industry is becoming more and more central, especially in supporting companies through major processes of transformation, innovation, and international expansion.

Thanks also to the work of the Miami Scientific Italian Community, led by Fabio De Furia, increasingly concrete connections are being strengthened among innovation ecosystems, universities, businesses, and institutions, creating strategic opportunities for both countries.

I have known this organization since its early beginnings, and seeing the Italian scientific community in the Southeastern United States establish itself today as an authoritative partner in the dialogue between research, innovation, and industry is a source of great satisfaction. I strongly believe in the ability to build strategic connections among universities, institutions, the research world, and the industrial system, creating concrete opportunities for growth, international collaboration, and knowledge transfer.

The Miami Scientific Italian Community is actively contributing to strengthening Miami’s role as an increasingly important hub in Italy-U.S. relations in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.

Continuing to build bridges between research, business, and institutions means strengthening the competitiveness of our production systems and creating new opportunities for shared development between Italy and the United States.”
