Italian and American universities have long enjoyed a wide variety of student exchange and study abroad programs, co-curricular partnerships, and research collaborations. However, as universities continue to evolve and new opportunities emerge, they have to consider how new strategic relationships could be forged.

The Embassy of Italy in collaboration with the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI) and its counterpart organizations in the US – the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU), the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA), Association of International Education Administrators (AIEA), American Council for International Education (ACIE) – invite university representatives to meet in Washington D.C. on January 25, 2017 for a Forum that explores how to stimulate stronger university partnerships. The forum will involve senior administrators and academics, and will discuss emerging trends, development of new joint funding opportunities, and examples of innovative partnerships that have been established.

Italian universities will present their research and teaching activities directly to their US counterparts, in order to foster agreements for the exchange of students, teachers and researchers, also showing some examples of good practices to share with American universities.
