Giusi Condorelli is the new Science Attaché in Washington

Today, Dr. Giusi Condorelli, Medical Director of the Ministry of Health and former Health Representative at the Embassy of Italy in Beijing, took up service as Scientific Representative at the Embassy of Italy in Washington.

After graduating in Medical Science and Surgery and getting her specialization in Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy, she has worked for almost twenty years at the Ministry of Health. In particular, she worked in the field of public health, international prophylaxis and health assistance with the aircrew. In the last four years, she has held the position of Health Representative at the Italian Embassy in Beijing where she promoted health collaboration between Italy and China, bilateral and multilateral scientific and health relations and the dialogue in the field of medical research. She also contributed to the collaboration between Italy and China to face the COVID-19 pandemic.

She is qualified as Doctor on Board, qualified as Auditor and Lead Auditor of the Quality Management System and as inspector of the National Anti-Corruption Plan – health section. She got the Diploma of Basic Operational Qualification CBRN: Defense against Chemical, Biological, Nuclear and Radiological Risk and has been a member of regional and national committees for international health emergencies. She has also participated, as Doctor on Board in the Naval Units of the Navy, in the Operation Mare Nostrum and as a volunteer doctor of the Civil Protection during the seismic event in Abruzzo in 2009. She has been teacher of many classes, conferences and seminars on cross-border health, occupational health and first aid, and the organizer of many national and international events.
