RESSH is a major international forum for discussion on responsible research evaluation and serves as the annual conference of the European Network for Research Evaluation in the Social Sciences and the Humanities (ENRESSH). Previous editions have been held in Rennes, Antwerp, Valencia, Poznań, Galway, and Helsinki. The 2026 edition is organized by ENRESSH and the Institute of Legal Informatics and Judicial Systems of the National Research Council (Cnr-Igsg) and will take place in Florence from April 22 to 24, 2026.
The RESSH 2026 Conference, hosted by the University of Florence, aims to provide an interdisciplinary space for discussion on the ongoing transformations in research evaluation systems, within a context shaped by new geopolitical dynamics, increasing institutional constraints, and the impact of artificial intelligence on scientific practices.
The theme of the 2026 edition is:
Scientific autonomy under pressure: Rethinking research evaluation in the context of global power shifts, security concerns, and artificial intelligence challenges
The conference will include oral presentations and poster sessions. Researchers, PhD candidates, policymakers, evaluators, institutional representatives, and professionals from all disciplinary fields are invited to participate.
